Hi folks, just got a slew of notices from Mediafire regarding removal of files in violation of their terms. I guess this is it, atleast for now. I'm curious though, who keeps reporting the files? What's your motivation? Please leave a comment and explain yourself, anonymously if you prefer. I just want to know. My motivation is to dig up and share forgotten music that was never released commercially. Everything presented here has been out of print for decades. There's no profit in this for me, quite the contrary. Come on, speak up!

It may not be any of us, trondie. It might be scour bots that look for names of artists and record companies and file "violation" notices with hosts like MediaFire automatically.
ReplyDeleteI do wish I weren't still having trouble getting your file list at HUSH seek, but I did find an intermediary who can, assuming that most recent Golden Ring is in your shares.
You might want to consider going private-several blogs I follow have done that. Not so wide an audience, but protection from finks-and you know your members like what you have.
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for sharing Your great music - Dusty Shelf is a fantastic site & should live! Keep on!
ReplyDeletewell it certainly wasnt me, bummed about this, thanks for all your wicked works
ReplyDeletePornotrond,
ReplyDeleteAs Easywind said, thanks for all of your shares.I hope you'll continue. Please consider the site 4Shared.com.You have to sign-up with them but the site seems more user-friendly.
Would hate to see Dusty Shelf go the way of Holy Warbles... let us know if you will be setting up shop privately or moving elsewhere. I'll add my thanks for all the great library finds you've given us!
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell DID happen to Holy Warbles, anyway?
ReplyDeleteNot 4Shared, BTW... I think they're gone. Sharebee is the one you want.
ptrond forever ! screw the link reporters. they are just jealous or as grey pointed out, it might be the scour bots. after megaupload went things became more uptight :(
ReplyDeleteRecording vinyls is an hard and long work!
ReplyDeleteWho will share rare Library LP if yoo can't?!
The only place i saw these LP is here!!!
But there are stupid & jealous guy everywhere...
Ptrond, if yoo need help, i'm here.
Hmm, it's very interesting - WHO find some violations in great rarities music???? His place in madhouse!
ReplyDeleteKeep sharing your collections, Pornotrond (but please, only not on Depositfiles)! Cheer up buddy, and let's your blog never gone!
Hello,
ReplyDeletehttps://www.wetransfer.com/
I believe it's time limited (2 weeks) but it's a very professional site. Once the 2 weeks period goes I suggest a follower of ptronds work, re-up's another wetransfer link!
Great work Trondie ;)
Bob.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteBob again. I've wetransfered the last 'Peter Thomas' album as a test.
http://wtrns.fr/b_fpFzOL3fyZbHv
That would be a working prototrond (see what I did there :)
The decision is yours Trond.
Best,
Bob!
litlgrey is likely spot on, Pornotrond. Hang in there, we all support your efforts and appreciate all your work.
ReplyDeleteDon't take it personally.
ReplyDeleteI love Bob's idea. Anyone willing to re-up this to wetransfer, please?
ReplyDeleteI like it as it creates more of a community and makes blogging less one-sided/ isolated.
What a pisser. Hope I'll see you on soulseek in the future, at least.
ReplyDeleteTo clarify: "What a pisser" refers to the situation - like when Ted Striker said it in "Airplane". ptrond, you're a great guy, it's a shame your stuff got pulled again.
DeleteAnd litlgrey, 4Shared is still around. However, not only do you have to register to upload, but you have to register to download too.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your ongoing work.
ReplyDeleteyeah, great work man. pls consider going private and continue this excellency :)
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I'm behind on this, but I support what everyone has said. I thought the WeTransfer system worked well, though it turned out that I had already downloaded the file. Your site is consistently excellent, and I'd hate to see it disappear.
ReplyDeleteplz just use another filesharing service!
ReplyDeleteoh geez. does anybody have the last three uploads and can they somehow send or share them with me?
ReplyDeleteHarmonic - cbj 645 - Giampiero Boneschi & Mitridate - Synthetics
Josef Weinberger - jw 410 - Peter Thomas - The Electric Stringmobile
Golden Ring Records - s 5341-06 - Mladen Franko - Sound Music Album 34: Electronic Impressions
cool dude x is me
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the blog sharing is coming to an end.
DeleteTons of blogs and forums are going down soon...
All the filesharing services are now under a big pressure since that case with MU...
:(
that is definitly a bummer :( its rediculous how the internet is being policed. just shows how easily everything can be controlled. like, i cant even download a fucking library record? what the fuck is going on!? who gives a shit? anyways props to ptrond, he's been hooking it up for years on the blog circuit. PORNOTROND IS GOD. thank you
Delete'Trond, you've done awesome things and made people's musical lives richer thru your efforts. Thank you, and let's hope this isn't the end. Reporter...if you really are out there...you're bad at life, and I pity you deeply.
ReplyDeleteso much goodness!
ReplyDeleteany chance for re-uploading all the music into new server?
ReplyDeleteamazing blog man keep up!
thanks for not giving up on the blog, your work is highly appreciated. So many times I've seen links get deaded or complaints submitted that made absolutely no sense. Really seems like these agencies have no clue what they're doing most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThe new host you've been using seems to be pretty good so far. Thanks for keeping on!
You're amazing dude, it's horrible how things are closing in on something so honest and honourable. Like an Anon said earlier, you've made our musical lives richer. We're out here ready to support you, and I hope a way to continue unhindered will be found!
ReplyDeleteThat is the uggliest album cover I have ever seen!
ReplyDeletethis is a great blog I'm happy to see you continue to upload new material. if all the old stuff can't be saved please continue on. you're friend in sharity --- me
ReplyDeleteHey Pornotrond, I am totally gutted that lots of your posts have been pulled or links rerouted (Yan Tregger's Hypnosis, I feel like crying!)
ReplyDeleteI have always cheerleaded Mediafire in the past and have had an account for years but it seems there has been an outbreak of the fascist mind amongst their policy makers and it seems the bots they send out to scour the files stored on their servers have gone gaga deranged - I read recently someone got all their files pulled because the song titles were similar to a couple of copyrighted book titles!
So it maybe as litlgrey says, that the copyright MF scour bots are on copyright steroids but equally, there are some total assholes out there so who knows.
One idea I thought is to ask people to reup the albums they like using their own file sharing accounts and post the links in the comments under the post... maybe reward regular re-posters with the occasional FLAC-WAV copy and/or an advanced copy of a future album post...
Not that any of us should be rewarded, really, we should all be reposting links as a thanks to all the hard work and effort PT puts into the blog.....
